From the MD – Issue 3, 2026

Dear Customers,

As we continue through another exciting year, I want to take a moment to reflect on the strength of local manufacturing and, most importantly, the success we see across our customers.

Across Australia and New Zealand, we are seeing many of our customers thriving. Whether it’s increasing production capacity, investing in new technology, expanding facilities, or entering new markets, it is encouraging to witness the resilience and innovation that continues to define our industries.

We are proud to play a role in supporting these businesses and helping them achieve their growth ambitions.

At the heart of our business is always the Japanese philosophy of Monozukuri – the art of making things better.  This is more than just about our machines, it is about constantly stiving to do things better, supporting our customers’ success and taking pride in delivering quality in everything we do.  This philosophy continues to guide our decisions as we invest in new technologies, our people and our services.

To ensure we continue delivering the latest technology and productivity improvements, we are excited about several new Okuma machine models that will be introduced over the coming months. These new additions to our model range will offer enhanced performance, efficiency, and automation capabilities, helping manufacturers remain competitive in an increasingly demanding market. We look forward to sharing more details with you as these machines become available.

At the same time, we remain committed to building a more environmentally sustainable business. Sustainability is an ongoing journey, and we are making steady progress across a range of initiatives. One of our current focuses is reducing our reliance on printed materials as we transition towards a more paper-lite environment. By embracing digital documentation and communications wherever possible, we can reduce waste, improve efficiency, and lessen our environmental footprint while continuing to deliver the high level of service our customers expect.

As our customer base continues to grow across Australia and New Zealand, we recognise the importance of providing responsive, local support. To meet this demand, we are expanding our service team across Australia and will be recruiting an additional four to five Service Engineers over the next 12 months. These new team members will help us further strengthen our nationwide support network, ensuring our customers receive the timely technical support and expertise they need to keep their operations running smoothly. Expressions of interest are now open.

While there is plenty happening within our business, we also remain committed to supporting the communities in which we live and work. Our team members are actively involved in a variety of local sporting clubs, community organisations, and volunteer groups, and we are proud to contribute to these activities wherever we can. Supporting local clubs not only strengthens our communities but also reflects the values that are important to our people and our organisation.

As always, I would like to thank our customers, supply partners, and employees for their ongoing support. The future remains bright for Australian & New Zealand manufacturing, and we are excited to continue investing in the people, technology, and services that help our customers succeed.

We look forward to working with you throughout the remainder of the year and beyond.

If you’re considering investing in a new CNC machine, we encourage you to connect with any member of our team. We’d be delighted to assist.

Kind regards,

Dean McCarroll
