Okuma Australia has been providing customers with free Lunch & Learn Sessions for several months.

Due to the overwhelming success we decided to roll these session out to other states  and regional areas.

Our first regional session held in Tasmania was well attended and following it’s success we travelled to Albury/Wodonga to support our long standing customer, Albury Precision Engineering.

“Okuma Australia are always striving to enhance the training we provide to all our customers and particularly those in regional areas.  With Okuma's fully staffed offices in every state, our ability to support our customers Australia-wide is second to none”, commented Dean McCarroll, Managing Director, Okuma Australia + New Zealand.

The Okuma Lunch & Learn Training Seminar in Albury was led by our resident Lunch and Learn specialist - David Tuon, Okuma Applications Engineer and supported by Mark Richards, Branch Manager, Vic & Tas.  The session covered classroom based learning along with hands-on machine operation.

“These training sessions have been very effective in providing the machine operators and others to understand the many features of the Okuma machines to improve their own throughputs and efficiencies.  This is particularly important for our regional customers”, said Mark Richards, Branch Manager, Vic & Tas.

“When we heard about the Okuma Lunch & Learn sessions we were very keen to participate and to understand how Okuma could offer this to us.  We found our presenter  David was very popular with both the young apprentices and old tradesmen alike in not only his delivery, but the content and especially with the Subway lunch…  The ability to do some hands on delivery at the machines was also well received and we felt it was worth the production downtime. We would happily consider hosting future events to enhance manufacturing in our region.” Karen Haberman,  Operations Manager, Albury Precision Engineering Pty Ltd.

Please note:  Future Okuma Lunch & Learn sessions will be on-line due to COVID-19 government directive.
