NEW VTM-1200YB 5-Axis Vertical Multitasking Machine honored in 54th (2011) Best 10 New Product Awards
Okuma's NEW VTM-1200YB 5-axis control vertical multitasking machine received one of the Nikkan Kogyo Shimbun's (Business & Technology Daily News) 2011 Best 10 New Products Awards.
Best 10 New Products Awards are given to selected products for their contributions to the development of manufacturing and strengthening of Japan's international competitiveness. Winners are chosen from among all products developed and in practical use in a given year.
The VTM-1200YB 5-axis control vertical multitasking machine enables turning of relatively large, complexly-shaped parts and process-intensive machining with 5-axis multitasking to achieve high production efficiency. Using the Thermo-Friendly Concept, high machining accuracy with machining dimensional change over time of less than 20 µm is achieved (actual results). Machining capacity is enhanced to outside diameter cutting of 6.5 mm2 and milling removal rate of 1,003 cm3/min (both with S45C). Combining improved travel speed and better operability using Collision-Free Machining and the Collision Avoidance System, the VTM1200YB contributes to both greater productivity improvements and reductions in cost.
The refurbished machine design produces a comfortable working space that incorporates ergonomics and universal design. This new Okuma premium design creates harmony between user and machine with comfort and assurance.
