Okuma worldwide has a strong comittment to support the educational aspirations of young people who plan to enter the manufacturing engineering arenas around the globe. 

Okuma Australia takes an active role in supporting those students or technical learning institutes, colleges and universities with a range of unique and meaningful programs. 

Although Okuma’s Tafe Incentive Program [TIP] is by invitation, it is a highlight for the students, institutions and our Company.  In addidtion our association with the MUR [Melbourne University Racing] Formula SAE teams offers a permanent pathway for the MUR students to turn their designs into parts for their vehicle on an annual basis.   

In addition we sponsor “Apprentice of the Year” awards at TAFE level and from 2007 will offer a one year “Fee Holiday” Scholarship for the top 2nd Year Engineering student at the Chisholm TAFE. 

Along with the Directors of Okuma Australia Pty Ltd, I would thank the South West and Chisholm TAFE heads, the Melbourne University Engineering Faculty MUR organisers and the host of students that have enriched the daily routine at Okuma Australia over the past years of our close associations with them all.
